As a UK-based digital designer, it's always a privilege to work closely with clients to refine their branding and create a visual identity that speaks directly to their audience. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with GB Massage Therapies to revamp their logo to help align it more closely with their brand ethos and service offering.

The Challenge

Original logo for GB Massage Therapies. Features a mauve / purple outline of the back of a person's head and back, with grey and purple hot stones on their back. Underneath is the wording 'GB Massage Therapies' in a purple and green colour.
GB Massage Therapies Original Logo

The original logo featured a wave-like spine design with hot stone motif, which unintentionally aligned more closely with chiropractic services than massage therapies. This miscommunication in the design caused confusion among potential clients, which the business owner was keen to avoid.

Moreover, the client explicitly requested a departure from traditional massage imagery—no lotus flowers, no outlines of the human form. The goal was to create a modern, gender-neutral design that would appeal to a broad audience while clearly communicating the breadth of their services, including sports massage, body massage, and Thai massage.

Our Approach

At Pro-Digi Digital Design, we start every project by delving into the client's requirements and understanding their vision. Armed with this insight, we focused on creating a logo that:

1. Was Clean and Modern - We opted for a sleek, circular design with layered gradients in shades of turquoise. These concentric circles symbolise balance, relaxation, and flow without leaning into overused massage therapy clichés. The clean typography further reinforced the modern aesthetic.

2. Communicated the Brand’s Services Clearly - To ensure that potential clients immediately understood what GB Massage Therapies offered, we incorporated the tagline "SPORTS | BODY | THAI" directly into the logo. This addition provided clarity while complementing the overall minimalist design.

3. Appealed to All Genders - The turquoise palette was chosen for its universal appeal—it’s fresh, calming, and professional without being overly feminine or masculine. The absence of stereotypical imagery further ensured inclusivity.

The Final Design

New Logo for GB Massage Therapies created by Pro-Digi Digital Design. Features a concentric circle of graduating shades of teal from light to darker shades. To the middle left of this circle are the words "GB Massage Therapies' in capital letters in White. Underneath this are the words "Sports, Body, Thai" to indicate the services that they offer.

The finished product is a complete transformation. By removing the spine imagery and introducing a clean, versatile circular motif, we successfully moved away from the chiropractor-like aesthetic. The use of bold yet approachable typography also ensures the logo is legible across all platforms, from business cards to social media.

Client Feedback

The client was thrilled with the result. They appreciated how the new design aligned perfectly with their brief, offering a fresh, contemporary look that avoided overused visuals while clearly defining their services.

They were so happy with their new logo that they hired us to design a new website - keep your eyes peeled on our blog for details of how this went!

Final Thoughts

At Pro-Digi Digital Design, our mission is to deliver designs that resonate with both our clients and their target audience. The re-imagined GB Massage Therapies logo is a testament to the power of thoughtful, client-focused design. It's clean, clear, and effective—a perfect representation of their business.

If you're considering a rebrand or looking for a bespoke logo design, we'd love to help bring your vision to life!
